Founder
Lola is a seasoned communications strategist, scholar, and transformative learning advocate. With over 14 years of experience, she has developed and implemented strategic communications for various international organizations, think tanks, and charities, including ActionAid and Mercy Corps. Through her work with international development partners, Lola engages stakeholders, raises profiles, influences, and contributes to generating more resources to drive positive change. Previously, she worked in different capacities with radio and television stations, honing her expertise in communications.
Academically, Lola holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication, an MBA, and a Master’s in Decolonisation and Social Justice from the University of West London. She is pursuing a PhD in Diplomacy and International Affairs, further expanding her knowledge and expertise. Lola’s dedication and excellence have been recognised, including:
- Best Graduating Female Student, Department of Mass Communication, Nasarawa State University
- Mercy Corps Gender Programmes Most Creative Team Member Award
- ActionAid Nigeria Long Service Award – to mention a few.
Driven by her passion for empowering others, Lola founded Girl Pro Africa to offer personalized coaching, mentorship, and psychosocial support to undergraduate students in public universities across Africa. Through this program, she helps students develop critical thinking skills, challenge existing paradigms, and broaden their perspectives to drive positive change, personally and professionally, despite the realities and intersectional stereotypes they may face.
